Every time I start my computer I get a message that says:

MICROSOFT WINDOWS
The system has recovered a serious error.
Please tell microsoft about the problem.

The text of the message window states that Microsoft has
created an error report and their are two options
available.
1) Send error report
2) Don't send

I have sent the error report to Microsoft and the message
continues to appear everytime I start my computer.
HOW DO I GET RID OF THE MESSAGE?
Any help would be greatly apppeciated. Thanks, Rich

Hi,

Control Panel/System/Advanced, click on error reporting and disable it.
Reboot. Then restart error reporting (if you so choose).

Have you been keeping your computer updates up to date?

A patch for this issue was released 2 years ago
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...46-0e2c-429f-8f40-f30014adc3bb&DisplayLang=en

If you don't have this patch installed, you likely don't have SP1 installed,
or any of the other later updates.

You really ought to make sure your computer is up to date, with Windows XP
SP1, and all the updates that have come out post SP1. You could be at risk
of being infected with a large number of viruses and your computer could be
contributing to the spread of viruses elsewhere due to the the non-patched
nature of your machine.
