Microsoft is making noises about delaying the launch of Windows Vista in Europe in order not to run afoul of government regulators there. Microsoft officials say they have insufficient guidance as to what EU officials are expecting the company to do regarding some of the new features it is bundling into Vista.

We say: It's tit-for-tat time.

The EU is not Microsoft's favorite place to do business right now, given the antitrust climate there. But we think Microsoft's plans to hold out on Vista could backfire, just like its foot dragging around complying with the EU's original antitrust decision did.
