Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -822798

After cleaning up a PC from the MSBLASTER I attempted to
install the MS XP Blaster Patch but I receive the
following:

Setup could not verify the integrity of the file
Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running
on this computer.

I reviewed and performed the correction steps tha tis
outline in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
822798

"SYMPTOMS:
When you configure automatic updates, or when you try to
install updates on your Windows XP-based computer, you may
experience one of more of the following behaviors:

You cannot install certain updates. You are prompted to
install one or more updates that you have already
installed. When you try to install an update, you receive
an error message similar to the following error message:

Setup could not verify the integrity of the file
Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running
on this computer."

But still in am not able to get beyond this error msg.
Does anyone have any new ideas on how to resolve this
problem. I can not install any other SP1 or critical
update because of this problem.
