Microsoft KBA- 811263, Error Message: The Software You Are Installing Has Not Pa

I have exactly this problem and have followed the steps
suggested. However, the XP came with the computer, and
didn't include a cd, so what do I do then?

This is driving me nuts, I cannot access any secure
websites, I cannot do any of the upgrade. What should I
do next?

What problem are you having (don't feel like searching for the KBA)?
 
Basically I am trying two things, one is to upgrade
internet explorer 6, the other is to run microsoft
upgrades. Error Message: The Software You Are Installing
Has Not Passed Windows Logo Testing to Verify It's
Compatibility with Windows XP...

I have run everything except for a reinstall of XP that
they have suggested on the KBA
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;811263) but I haven't got access to the cd, since the
computer came preinstalled... so I can't really do the
last part, and I am trying to figure out if I can get
around it someway.
