Here is one of their testing/troubleshooting pages:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/test_version.htm
instructions on how to remove it safely
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/control_remove.htm
Or:
Create shortcuts in your Links area under Internet Explorer, which will run
a command:
Flash On:
"C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\regsvr32.exe"
"C:\WinNT\System32\Macromed\Flash\swflash.ocx"
Flash Off:
"C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\regsvr32.exe"
"C:\WinNT\System32\Macromed\Flash\swflash.ocx" /u
(these are word wrapped for usenet, you must combine the two lines
back together, separated by a space)
Of course, if you're not running an NT-kernel OS, or if you installed
flash in a different directory you'll have to adjust the paths to
regsvr32.exe and swflash.ocx

I have the same problem. I think it is caused by Flashplayer or Shockwave
programs. I removed the Shockwave and the browser worked fine and when i
reinstalled Shockwave, I got the error message again. May have something to
do with sites that have a certain type of multimedia that run Shockwave. I
tried to remove shockwave again, but I did not see it on my remove list in
the control panel or an uninstall in the folder. This is a real
problem...any help would be much appreciated.
