Problem encountered while closing Internet Explorer

Everytime I close Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0 the
following message appears:

Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Error Report:
Error signature
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer 6.0.2800.1106 ModName:
msvbvm50.dll
ModVer: 5.1.43.19 Offset: 000cfc3d

I tried repairing the browser but to no avail. I can no
longer restore my old version.

Would appreciate any help you can give.
