When I insert equation into Word document, some characters are not as they
should be. For example, when I type = sign, I get T' , typing pi and I get
and bullet.

I did this at home and equation worked perfectly. What is my problem?

With Equation Editor open, click on Style > Define. Make sure
these styles are set to Symbol font: LCGreek, UCGreek, Symbol.
Never change these styles to any other font.

Well, I do not have Symbol Font - The font it wants to use is
BookshelfSymbol7.

Therein lies the problem. Bookshelf Symbol 7 font doesn't have
the right characters in the right font positions to work with
Equation Editor. If you e-mail me directly, I'll send you a copy
of Symbol. This font ships with Windows, so you must have had it
at one time. It must've been accidentally deleted along the way.
