I assume my sony vayo PCG-GRZ610 has a built-in
microphone. Can somebody tell me if it needs some
installation (window xp) and how I can test it.

Sony computer do not have a build-in microphone. Some may come with various
types of microphones that can be plugged into the microphone input on the
computer.

If you did not receive a external microphone, suggest you buy one.
