Microphone Gain

Well my install of Vista went without a hitch. Everything is good and fine,
until I loaded up TeamSpeak. I can hear people just fine, but when I talk to
them, they say they can barely hear me. So basically what I'm trying to find
out is, in Windows XP there was a Microphone Boost (Or Gain Option) which I
cannot find in Vista. Is there an option mic gain in Vista?

I did raise the level for the mic, and that helped, but I have to shout for
people to actually hear me. I am using an Audigy SE sound card, Creative labs
did not have Vista drivers, so I used XP drivers, which helped from the
beginning when all people said they could here from me was static.

I'm fearing it's a directx issue, but it seems like I'm getting closer to a
solution, I figure if there is a mic gain option somewhere, I should be
golden.

I was having a similar problem with Ventrilo. You'll want to use the
Microphone Boost and keep it at 100. Right-click on the sound icon in the
tray and hit "Audio Devices...", then right-click on your mic input (if
there's more than one, talk into the mic and see which level bar rises) and
hit Properties. Under Other is the Microphone Boost checkbox. Levels
contains the slider for how much boost it's getting.

Thanks for the info, that fixed the TS issue, but unfortantly when I tried to
play Battlefield 2 last night, the server I tried to connect to gave me an
error "Unauthorized O/S detected" when I clicked ok, it crashed to desktop,
so.... I'm just going to re-install XP. Becuase I'm an avid gamer, and I'm
going through withdrawl now.

Hawk,

I re-installed XP last night, even if I could get BF2 to run, the sound was
still jacked up as there is no Beta driver for Audigy SE. Trust me I looked.
I can't wait around for a solution as I play in the Nations at War BF2 Mod
tournament every Saturday.

I'll just wait on Vista for awhile. It's a shame because I really liked it
in the brief time that I used it.
