I HAVE BEEN RECORDING MY OWN MUSIC FOR YEARS. I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW
DELL. THIS NEW ONE HAS VISTA. ON ALL MY OLDER PC'S I RUN OUT OF MY MIXER INTO
THE LINE IN....AND OUT OF MY OUTPUT JACK FROM THE PC, INTO THE MIXER. I USE
ACID RECORDING SOFTWARE. I CAN HEAR MYSELF FINE THROUGH THE HEADPHONES BUT
ITS NOT REGISTERING IN MY ACID PROGRAM. IF ANYBODY COULD PLEASE HELP ME WITH
THIS MATTER IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED....MUSIC IS MY LIFE AND I CANT LIVE
WITHOUT IT. I JUST REBUILT MY WHOLE STUDIO AND GOT A BRAND NEW MIC AND I CANT
EVEN RECORD
THANKS

Yes, please no CAPS. some things you may want to look into:

do you have software on your computer for the sound card, or onboard sound?
this may give you options as to where line in, line out, headphones, and such
goes, and which pieces are muted or not.

also, if you have a line in jack on the front and back of your computer, and
it's not registering from the front, the back may be more reliable. to get
the front plug to work, try finding the software i mentioned above, and see
if 'front pink' or 'front line in' or 'front mic' is muted.

hope this helps,

Dan
