metadata not downloading

For the last week this has not downloaded in communities, has something
changed?

It is Flaky at the best!
Disable the newsgroup rating feature at tools>options>general>apply
 
Well, with nothing done on my end they automagically started working again
today.

Microsoft managed to fix whatever was wrong with the 'Communities'
server that adds the extra features. It has broken many times before,
and will probably do so again. Which is one reason I don't use the
Communities features.
