Messenger and windows XP

A friend and I are trying to run messenger on our xp
computers. I live in the states and she's in canada. We
are both using logitech pro 4000 cameras. Camera's work
fine on the software from logitech but when we try to
video talk with each other. We only get black screens.
Talking with my ISP, I configured my westell dsl moden to
open ports for msn messenger (windows messenger is not
listed) with still no luck. Can anyone help? Also, on
messenger we can run the audio tuning wizard fine and the
camera works but after that the light goes off and we have
nothing. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

As i remember DSL sends data at 56kps,it recieves data at
a higher level but at 56kps (tops) youre transfering to much
data with the video cameras.A cable-link would solve that,it
can send 20 to 50 times 56kps.

I have exactly the same problem with my DSL connection using Windows
Messenger 4.7 and a Logitech Pro 4000 Web Cam. Changing to a cable link is
not an option that I have. Is there any way to make this work?
