Messenger and MSN Today

I recently installed Windows Live OneCare for viruses and spyware and
firewall. I don't know if there's a connection, but when I start my
computer, I get the Messenger screen and then MSN Today. How can I stop
these from appearing on my desktop when I launch? I have a Dell 8100,
Windows XP, Pentium 4. Thanks for any help.
