Messed up desktop display

Suddenly my desktop was moved to my right about 2 inches,
and there is a column on the left that has "buttons" for
Folder Tasks, Other Places and Details. I just can' get
rid of it and get my desktop back to order. (All programs
run in the proper screen size -- it's just my desktop that
appears to be messed up.

Remove Common Tasks from the Desktop (line 15 left hand side):

Click on the line, safe the *.reg file to your desktop. Double click
it, and answer yes to import to the registry.
