Messaging Interface Error when doing Search in Outlook 2007

As soon as I try to do a search, I get the following error: "The Messaging
Interface Has Returned an Unknown Error. If the Problem Persists, Please
Restart Outlook". So I have to close the program and then go back into it.
Other Outlook functions seem to work fine.

This happens both in our hosted exchange .ost file and local .pst file.
We've tried rebuilding the file and reindexing it, but no luck. Does anyone
know how to solve this? Thank you.
 
are you in cached mode? outlook can only search in cached mode on exchange servers.

sorry i don´t know more, we´re using Lookeen for searching in outlook and don´t have problems like this.
