Messages waiting at logon

When I switch my PC on at the logon screen I am informed I have messages
waiting, but in outlook 2003 (My default tool) when I open that there are no
messages there.

If I then log off and back on it still tells me there are 2 messages
waiting.

Any idea where they are?

I am using XP home.

Found them (blush) they where in the inbox of outlook express, which I use
for news groups.
