messages on desktop

Help! I installed my MSN and now it keeps popping up on the desktop. I
close it, reduce it, nothing works. It pops up over top of games I am
playing, discs I am copying, etc. It pops up every few seconds. It is not
set up to go automatically-at least I DIDN'T set it up to do this. I've
checked connection settings and it is not checked. I tried making sure it
wasn't a start up shortcut and it isn't. It is driving me crazy.
 
I downloaded MSN 9 from the MSN site. I had 9 on my old computer and it
worked fine. I called DEll and they told me this was an "MSN problem". I
called MSN and they said it "could" be a compatibility problem with VISTA and
they would send me a disc for MSN 9.5. Know anything about this?
