Messages not visible

I'm a new WM user, still getting used to it, and can't figure out a message
visibility issue. If I have View > Current View set to Show All Messages
(with nothing else ticked), all messages in my Inbox appear to be there. If
I tick Group Messages by Conversation, all or most (yes, it varies,
apparently arbitrarily) of the messages in a longish thread disappear from
view. I've tried flagging some of the messages and marking them as unread,
but neither seems to affect their ability to disappear. I've only noticed
this behaviour with one thread, and I don't yet know whether it happens with
any other threads (it certainly does not happen with all threads).

In Tools > Options> Read, I have ticked the box 'Automatically expand
grouped messages', so that's not causing the problem.

Any idea on possible causes?

Click the plus sign in front of a thread to display the whole thread.

Frank, there are no plus signs because, as I said in the original post "In
Tools > Options> Read, I have ticked the box 'Automatically expand grouped
messages', so that's not causing the problem."

Any other ideas?

This problem is still occurring. As before, it happens with only some
conversation threads, and then with either some or all of the messages in
the affected thread. And it happens in the Inbox as well as in other
folders that I have created.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should it be reported as a bug?

This continuing problem is driving me nuts!! If there's nobody out there
with an answer or a solution, could someone please tell me the best way in
which to report it to MS as a bug?
