Menu Speed

I just had to format my HP and re-install Winxp Home. The install went fine
with no problems. After I re-installed Office 2003 I have noticed that my
start menu speed was very fast. Infact when I went into the registry to
look, my showmenudelay was 0. I changed to back to 350 and I did not notice
any difference. I then rebooted and looked again and my showmenudelay was
again 0. The only way I have figured out how to correct this is to open
Winxp power Toys and change the menu speed from there. But I have to do this
everytime I restart the pc and thats annoying. How can I make this a
permanent fix?

Thanks,
Jim

Yes I do have an Nvidia card. And when I did the windows update there was a
driver update for my Nvidia card.

Thanks for the input, I will look for this setting!

Hi,

Do you have nvidia video card. there is a setting which affects the menu
speed. if this is enabled then the menu items fly out faster than the blink
of an eye. Open the utility manager in nVidia control panel and disable this
setting. your start menu will be restored to defaults.
