menu bar disappears

Excel is open
Using PowerPoint slide w/ embedded excel spreadsheet in it
Launch spreadsheet from PowerPoint by double-clicking
Switch back to Excel
Menu Bar and Taskbars have disappeared, can't find
any "Close Full Screen" floating menu option.

What is the trick to restore the "normal" Excel view?
