Memory

Hi I have 256 of memory and installed a further 512, unfortunately this did
not show up on available memory, if I take the 256 out and put in the 512
there is still only 256 available. Belarc advisor shows both memory modules
but says only 256 available. I have a KT3 Ultra motherboard. I have tried
different slots but no luck.
any help would be appreciated

Check if the BIOS configuration screen shows the correct amount of memory,
if not, it means that this module is not compatible with your motherboard
and you'll need to try with a diferent one.

One point that would be worth checking (presuming the BIOS memory count
shows things correctly) is to Start - Run - MSConfig.exe
and look on the Boot.ini page. Click Advanced Options and see if
/MAXMEM has got checked, restricting the memory to be seen by Windows
