using media player 9 with xp

this has begun closing itself as well, any time I try to
use it to view an internet file.. not error message no
nothing, just closes. if it is saved to my comp it plays
fine. the mp2.exe will play the files however. any clues?
 
it almost sounds like a firewall problem. do you have all
the updates for it.
