Media Player will not copy

Ok, I have all the files I want to copy downloaded into WMP, and when I pick copy to cd, everything looks fine, but after maybe 1, 2, or 3 songs, it just stops, then says "Closing Disc" then gives me an error message saying I need to slow my recording speed down or several other things, but even after doing all of these things, it still will not copy, help please

i have put all my music in a folder and when i get ready to copy it it want i think my cd burner has been erased because this has never happen until now is it possible for that to happen?
