My two pennorth is that my Win 10 install ran perfectly, integrated media playback and all.

Only reason I'm not using it (yet) is I didn't like it much at all (only to be expected after liking Win 7 for so long I suppose) cos my desktop PC is not a phone and the privacy invasion issues.

I do suspect that by July next year though it will likely be my Windows OS of choice but primarily only for games I expect.

For Office, web browsing, video and audio editing and all Media management I'll probably use a Linux Distro, most likely Mint.

We shall see.

I rarely use WMP in Windows 7, VLC and 5KPlayer is my daily used media player for DVD video and music files playback, both of them work so well and compatible with my new Windows 10.
