Media player 9 does not work

My problem with media player is that several tasks
suddenly stopped working after a few months of no problems.

Now when I want to display my "Media Library" the screen
just stays black and I can not use the function " search
for media files" as it will show the box "add to ....."
but no progress.

I have tried to re-install by installing media player
again without removing the old copy, without success. I
can not find any way of removing the already installe
media player.

Tips?

Same issue here with the library. It seems to have
happened after installing a new windows patch. I am
running XP Pro. Anyone have a solution to this?????
