Media Player 11 for Vista crashes just after opening.

HELPPPP!! My WMP 11 crashes a moment after opening. i've reinstalled Windows
Vista. i can't even install it on XP Pro!! My system: AMD 1600+ 1GB RAM
Graphic card ATI 64MB Windows Vista Ultimate.

Hm - I may take that back. According to further analysis, this is
apparently due to memory corruption. The folder rename trick I suggested
might work - try it, and just rename the old folder back if it *doesn't*
work, but it appears that this is *likely* a driver or hardware error.

points you to a memory diagnostics test that would be very good to run on
this system. I suspect/hope you're fine here, but -- better safe than
sorry.

The basic suspect areas here -- DIMMs, memory controller, over-heating,
overclocking, drivers --- something is corrupting kernel code pages, but
it's hard to say from my end since all I have to go on is a very generic
crash bucket as opposed to any live dump / run with application verifier /
kernel debugger / etc. =)
