Hi, I read through most of the posts, but could not figure out how to solve
this problem. My computer is brand new (HP) and it came with Windows Vista
already installed on it. Everytime I try to use my photo program it crashes
and tells me that the Media Player has stopped working. Here is the problem
report:

Please let me know if there is a way to fix this problem. Vista has been
pretty hard to work with so far......

That's a crash in the Ligos MPEG filter - why is that on your system? Do
they have an update available? If you unregister or rename that file, do
you still crash?

What photo program are you trying to use?

I'm not entirely sure what Ligos is? I did a search for it, but it did not
come up with anything. I am using Photo Explosion Deluxe from Nova
Development.

If you contact their support for an update to their Ligos MPEG component, do
they have one? That assumes they put that on your system, of course.

If you search for "lmpgspl.ax" on your system, do you find it? That's the
Ligos MPEG Splitter which appears to be identified as a/the suspect file in
this crash. Either getting an update from Ligos or Nova, unregistering, or
renaming that file should likely fix you up.

Indeo was made by Intel and sold to Ligos, is commercial (not a free
download - which may be why that URL doesn't resolve currently.... ?), and
is unrelated to their MPEG decoders. You can buy Ligos Indeo decoders
here--
http://ligos.com/index.php/home/products/indeo/

This would be unlikely to have any effect upon an MPEG issue, though, since
those are AVI-only codecs. =)
