Media Center Unresponsive

When I open Media Center it hangs up. I have to open the task manager to shut
it down. Then the "send error report" on a unresponsive program message pops
up.

I have tried to go to settings and see if my children have changed
something. But it always hangs up and won't let me access it.

Is there a way to restore the original settings to start with? Or any other
ideas would be helpful.

Try to run system restore in safemode if you can enter safemode.

To start the computer in safe mode

1. Start your computer

2. As your computer starts but before Windows launches, press F8 key
repeatedly.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems,
you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.

3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and
then press ENTER.

4. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation
that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

Note

-If Windows launches before you can choose a safe mode, restart your
computer and try again.

To Restore

-To access the System Restore Wizard, click Start, and then click Help and
Support. Click Performance and Maintenance, click Using System Restore to
undo changes, and then click Run the System Restore Wizard.

-While the computer is in safe mode, System Restore does not create any
restore points. Therefore, you cannot undo a restoration that you performed
when the computer was in safe mode.

-You can use System Restore to restore your computer to any restore point
while in safe mode. If you cannot start the computer in standard mode, you
can use System Restore to restore to a time when you could start the computer
without errors.

-To restore to a time when your computer started without errors, select a
restore point as close to the time you remember it last started without
errors.
