Media Center or XP Pro?

Hi anyone,
Is Wndows Media Center based on XP Home or XP Pro? I s there a big
difference in network and remote connectivity to warrant upgrading to XP Pro?
or should i move on to Vista Premium?

Pietro,

Windows Media Center is based on XP Pro, but vs. XP Pro it is limited in
network connexion : it can't connect on a network with a domain controller,
while the first version of WMC could connect on a Domain.

Can't you join a domain upon installation of Windows XP Media Center
edition?
