Installing xp pro while on xp media center

Guest

Hi,

I currently have xp media center, but I want to install a licensed version
of xp pro. It will not accept my product key even though it is a valid key.
I tried to install xp pro, as a test, from a win2k pro machine and it worked
(I stopped before installation). Now, I tried to install booting from the
cd, but it cannot find the hard drive because it is a SATA hard drive (cd
will only read a IDE drive).

Can anyone help? Thanks. Dr. P

ps: xp media center is not an upgrade to xp pro, you cannot authenticate on
xp media center, and no file encryption. i need to install xp pro to
authenticate to a network/server. thanks.
