McAFEE Privacy Service fails after Windows XP Home upgrade to SP 2

Error message flashes that Privacy service is "missing a component" and the
McAfee service must be reinstalled. When I attempt to reinstall it (it cost
35 USD online for a year!)...I'm told that "my file is more up to date than
the one I just downloaded...presumably the plain old Windows XP Home edition.
Also, does anybody have a phone number to McAfee that connects to a person
who is not in Eastern Patook and can actually HELP you

Don't know the difference between PS2 and USB,
Seems these acro-nyms are getting the best of me
Why farm out customer support to the Philippines?
Seems kinda strange...
They don't even make "HELP" in the USA...anymore.

The last time I had to deal with McAfee, you simply go to their
web site. You login to your account. It should remember your
last on-line purchase and allow you to re-install/download the
product. However, it's not a static download and the installer
will run automatically which may or may not resolve your issue.

Unfortunately, both McAfee & Symantec make it difficult to
obtain front-line technical support without incurring a charge or
getting "Canned" email responses to check their Knowledge base
articles. Just make a mental reminder of that the next time your
product(s) come up for renewal.
