Error code: The IPSEC Services service terminated with the following error:
The attempted operation is not supported for the type of object reference.
This is a Gateway, 1024 memory, WinXP Home, and McAfee security center.
Which as four parts to it. Virus protector, firewall, privacy service, and
spamkiller.
This is the second computer, with the same problem. The first was sent back
to Gateway, because they though it was a hardware problem. So you now ask,
well how did you fine out it was "Privacy Service". I was told by McAfee to
uninstall all of them. And the reinstall one at a time. Privacy service,
terminated IPSEC. I told McAfee that it was privacy service. They told me to
call Microsoft. I said why, its not their problem, its McAfee. I also put
this on the McAfee discussion group, with no replys.
Question: Is IPSEC an important part of XP? Or should I just get rid of
McAfee?
Thank you so much for your time and help.
