Hello

I just upgraded a fully updated Windows XP Home PC with new retail boxed
Windows Professional SP2. This "upgrade" worked fine but removed IE7 and
presumably all updates since SP2.

Now when I attempt to run Windows update it reports 100+ updates are ready
but none will install. The Update history shows all updates have been applied
OK with green ticks.

So I emptied the browser cache and installed IE7 from a standalone installer
but there are still 96 updates waiting to be applied.

My client has one more PC to upgrade to XP Pro from Home and I want to sort
this problem out before proceeding.

Please advise.

This article applies to upgrades as well.
