master slides

i am having difficulty putting more that one text area in
the slide master. Apart from the Master text style and
Master title style, i cannot seem to add another text
area in the master.

any ideas?

You cannot do that, if I'm reading you right. The text areas supplied in a
master are limited to what is supplied. You cannot add new ones. By the way,
these supplied text areas are called "placeholders". So, the rule is, you
cannot add extra placeholders.
