master slide updating

The color of the title text is different in my slide master and title master
slide. When I try to change one, the other changes too. How can this be
stopped?

When you change a slide master, the title master changes automatically, but
the reverse is not true.

So just change the slide master to the color you want, then go and make
whatever changes to your title master last.
