Master Browser war

I have a laptop running Windows 2000 Professional, when I
plug it into my network at work, it causes a master
browser war with my pdc which is running NT Server 4.0. I
get messages every 10 minutes or so, saying that my
laptop thinks it is the master broswer and it forces an
election. Is there a way that I can tell the laptop to
not try to be the master browser for the network?
