I have two multi-format mass storage devices that will not recognize on my front USB ports. All other devices work fine including a single format card reader. Device Manager says that there are no drivers loaded or needed. Any ideas??

Folks....I am having the same problem (see my posting
from yesterday titled "Unknown Device - external USB
drives" and I see a few other USB disk issues recently on
this group. I wonder if an update has done something ?
I have tried uninstalling the drives and removing the USB
from the registry but it is not having any
effect....Fraser

This is a common problem. What happens is the front panel USB slots are
not properly connected to the motherboard or there is no place on the
motherboard to connect these. You need to check and make sure they are
connected properly. Also, make sure you have the most recent chipset
drivers (motherboard drivers) installed. Did these ports actually work
before?

The motherboard ports did work in another case. I updated cases. The only devices that I have that do not work in these ports are the multi-format card readers. The scanner works, and a single format card reader. I also posted this on www.usbman.com and comment was made that the front USB header did not have enough power. This header is different than the one in the previous case. The old case basically provided a point of connection. This new one has a small circuit board with capacitors(?) on it. CaseMaxx has not responded to the malfunction as yet. At this point, I believe it is a case header problem.
