I have an application that runs best from a mapped network drive. The
network drive is simply mapped to a share on the local pc itself. It works
fine when plugged into the network but the drive becomes disconnected when
the laptop unplugs from the network. Does the machine have to have an IP
address for the mapped drive to remain accessible when unplugged from the
network?
The only solution I can think of is to use offline folders. Seems kind of
silly to have to do it that way though.
I had considered mapping to the local 127.0.0.1 address, but that didn't
work.
Any other suggestions?
