Hi -

I am facing a similar issue with an XP machine that has numerous mappings.
I have found MS Article 297684 but am a little confused if the steps outlined
in the article are supposed to be done on the XP (client) or the server
(where the mapping goes to). It sounds like a certain change needs to be
made on the client and a different change (in the registry) needs to be made
on the server.

Any input/suggestion/clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Are you sure the NIC isn't set to be disabled after "no activity"? Go to
Device Manager and double-click on the NIC entry to get its Properties.
Click on the Power Management tab and uncheck "allow Windows to turn off
this device when not in use".

We have a similar issue with mapped drives losing connectivity. Part of our
standard setup of a new pc is to uncheck that box. Any other ideas on what
might cause this or how to get it to stop?
