mapped drives won't reconnect

I am running XP Pro and my mapped drives disconnect after a time and will not
reconnect.....I have tried a login script to map and also mapped through
explorer. The mapping seems to work fine for a few days and then has
problems? I have also moved the folder/file that we map to onto a different
machine and still have the same problem?
help please, thank you

it could be the hardware issue. check the nic and switch settings.
