Malfunctioning Taskbar - Unable to see open programs on task bar

I am unabe to see the buttons for accessing open programs on my taksbar. The
original space for the open programs is used up by the language bar.

Adjusting the language band position, restoring the language bar, unlocking
the taskbar don't solve the problem.

I am using the latest updated Windows XP Home.
