Making Outlook Express my default mail handler

Outlook Express 6 was my default mail handler and I could connect to email
links on web pages via IE6. I can't do it now and have tried to reinstate
Outlook Express as default mail handler using Tools/Options/General/Default
Messaging Programs but this does't seem to work. Please may I have some help?

Try it again in Control Panel-> Internet Options-> tab Programs

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
