Make telephone calls using Outlook Contacts

I'm using Outlook 2007 with Vista Ultimate and want to use my Outlook
Contacts to make telephone calls via my built in modem.

I can dial out ok, and make the connection. I can hear the person being
called, but they cannot hear me.

I'm using a USB headset which I know works in both directions, but something
is stopping my outgoing transmission.

It's probably something dumb that I've overlooked, but "I'm so near and yet
so far". I can find no useful information in Help, or the Forums - can
anyone help
Thank you in anticipation

I think you need a real phone to talk. You're hearing them talk since PCs
play the modem output over the speaker output but there's no input to the
modem stream via the mike.

Unless you have a voice modem that also has a microphone jack.
