Sorry for not being around recently but have had major prpblems with my PC.

Even though it's still under the mesh warranty (as much as thats worth) it's been playing up!
Need to buy some new parts for it & am going to do the work myself as mesh turnaround is in months these days.

So where's the best place to buy?
PSU, Heatsink&Fan, New Case & possibly Hard Drive and Operating System?

Would echo what bodhi said.

E-Buyer these days are fine, if my recent experiences are anything to go by.

CPU fan fails every now & then when booting up.
PSU fan sometimes stops working.
Case power-on-button sometimes does not work, coupled with a case thats falling apart!!
Problem with Northbridge fan failing at times.
DVD/CDRW failing when burning.

Apart from all of that it's a joy to own a mesh pc.
Well OK apart from the initial problems over the first 6 months of ownership!!

The 3 main things to do will be CPU, PSU & Northbridge Fan, it seems that these failing are common place with the type & spec of mesh pc that i own & may be faults that mesh know about!!!!

It's just getting the time to do the work.
I've sorted the problems out for the time being after giving the pc a good clean up over the weekend and will now monitor things until i can do the work.

CPU Fan: What CPU is it? Or what size is the fan that goes on theheatsink?

Is the Northbridge fan secured to the board with two spring loaded peg-type connectors?

Has the PSU fan always been intermittent as some PSU fans only kick in when a thermal switch reaches a certain temperature, it may be doing what it's supposed to do.

It may be worth investing in a new case/PSU your budget will be influential here but do not buy a cheap PSU, it's a false economy.

I think the Antec Sonata case with 500W PSU is a good buy atm, despite my misgivings about Antec PSU's. It's a very good price indeed at £89.23 inc postage and will cater for any future upgrades you may undertake.

Of course you may not like the look of it at all... ;)

And Here's a good, cheap DVDRW with a free Homer Burger :D

Suggestion One for Northbridge cooler.

Suggestion Two for Northbridge cooler.
