Seems my mesh pc that is 4.5 years old is on it's way out & this time i dont think i can fix it.
CMOS error plus start up problems (lots of bleeps), new CMOS battery needed again and CPU fan failing at times, already fixed it once but it seems as this time it may be terminal and time to ditch it and buy new!

Thinking of buying from Novatech, just a standard On-Board sound & Graphics as i dont play many games.
Vista Home + 3 to 4GB RAM? Anyone else got any ideas of other places to look at for basic systems etc for under £500.
Dont need a monitor or speakers as have them already etc.

I am still totally pleased with the computers we bought a couple of years back. One was from good old Novatech,:thumb: and the other was from PC Specialist Ltd :thumb:

The latter was not quite so speedy as Novatech, when it came to delivery, but on the other hand, I was choosing a custom build from PCS, so to be fair to them, it would have taken a bit longer. Also, when I had a small problem with the fan (which I don't doubt you could have fixed yourself) I sent it back. They were very good and did not take long to fix it; I had it returned within the promised time, so no grumbles about them. Might be worth a look. :)

Good hunting ;)

Some of the bundles look very attractivly priced add a decent psu and you have a cheap flyer.

This is cheap and the 5200's are good overclockers if yuo want a bit of extra speed.

If Theme Hospital is the extent of your Gaming then you really don't need a powerful machine.

SVP/Big Pockets/OCUK/Novatech will all offer you good machines. I'd perrsonally avoid Dell but that's just me.

Despite what you may you think it's a general rule that spending more will pay dividends in long term use.

Providing you select your supplier carefully, anyway.

We will probably go with Novatech.
Current mesh pc is very unwell & have been trying to repair it over weekend, but it's still not working 100%.:(

My sister got a good deal of a PC quite recently through PCSpecialist for about £500 (without monitor and speakers as it was an upgrade). Apart from the graphics card it blew mine out of the water and came with a Windows 7 upgrade voucher.
