Hi Bruce G,

Hopefully the information in these InstallShield KB articles will help:

Error 0x8002802B Element Not Found
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q110616

Update to the Latest InstallShield Installation Engines
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322

If the above doesn't help you to resolve the problem, perhaps the persons
who frequent the "games" discussion group can provide you with more/better
assistance:

Thanks for your help, but for some strange reason, I was missing a file and
when I replaced it, my system took some time to reregister it. I don't know
if the missing file was due to a Microsoft Update, but it's very annoying to
have something happen that you're not prepared for.

BTW, the file was stdole.tlb.

That's twice now that a critical file has gone missing that I had to find.

You're welcome for the help, and I'm glad that you were able to resolve the
problem.
stdole.tlb is a core Windows file, not an InstallShield file, but why it
went missing I do not know.

btw, enjoy F.E.A.R. !! (I know I sure did <g>!)

I've worked with Windows systems for many years and never had a critical
file 'go missing'. I can only assume that it might be to do with the
Game patch that you tried to install. I'd look to blame the supplier of
the patch, not Microsoft. These days a Microsoft OS tries very hard not
to let you remove or damage system files.

Cheers,

Cliff
