mail will not accept vpn name

I have signed on to my vpn at work and outlook will not accept the server
name and my name it also blocks my home e-mail what am I doing wrong.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong...

1. Ask your IT staff at work for help with this. It's a name resolution
issue (networking) - not an Outlook issue.

2. Most VPNs are set up to block all non-VPN traffic when the tunnel is
established, for security reasons (you don't want mysterious visitors on
your corporate network via an unsecured client connection). When you want to
check your home e-mail, close the VPN connection.
