Outlook 2003 on a laptop, using VPN - the line drops while Outlook is open.
You reconnect the VPN, but you have to close down Outlook and reopen it for
it to reconnect to the mail server. Any way to reconnect Outlook after this
VPN burp without closing it??

Try clicking File and checking Work Offline, wait a moment, then click File
and uncheck Work Offline.

Is this to your home or office ? What VPN are you using ? site to site or
desktop ?
I too occasionally have a comm burp but don't have to close & re-open. Just
click on the "Offline" "Connect" button in the bottom right corner works for
me.
