mail to: Hyperlink in Signature of message

I placed a hyperlink to my email in the signature attached to outgoing
messages. It was in the form of (e-mail address removed). For some reason the
hyperlink changed and now reads "Hyperlink mail to: name@[email protected]
name@[email protected] (e-mail address removed)". This showed up on several
outgoing messages and then it reverted to it's original format however, when
you point at it the pop up says "mail to: name@[email protected].

I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2 and Office 2003 with SP2. My outlook
..pst file is 3GB +. Has Outlook gone haywire or has my email been hijacked or
redirected? How can I fix this.

if the message format is html, it requires a mailto to be clickable. Some
systems will convert the hyperlinks weird (I think ail is one) and showing
field codes when using word as the editor will sometimes make them look odd
too.
