Macfee 7.0 on W2K

I have W2K SP4 all patches and macfee Antivirus 7.0, my
computer became unworkable (very,very slow) when i see in
the Task Manager the process Mcshield.exe use 99% of the
CPU time.

Any advise will be apreciated.

Ensure you have removed any other virus scan products,

McAfee will not run if another antivirus program is
resident in memory and will cause the system to hang or
run very slow. Go to McAffee and download/run stinger just
to be sure your clean.

Then try unloading McAfee and take note of how your system
is running.
